                                            Universal Credit
Universal Credit is at the heart of the Government's Welfare reform and is now being rolled out in Lochaber.
Universal Credit will be paid:
  • 1. As a single household payment
  • 2. On a calendar monthly basis
  • 3. Direct payment of housing costs to the payment
To help claimants prepare, Lochaber Housing Association has teamed up with Highland Communities Credit Union and we are offering members of the credit union a new service.
Members will be able to have their benefit (Universal Credit) paid into their credit union account and then upon agreement, have their rent paid directly to Lochaber Housing Association. The remainder of their benefit can be loaded onto a card which can be used either at an A.T.M (75 pence charge) or anywhere that gives "cash back" (free).
More information about the Card will be provided shortly.
